Department of Pharmacy was established in the year 1973 at Government Medical College, Kottayam. D.Pharm was started in 1973. B.Pharm course was started in 2009, and was affiliated to M G University. The new building of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences was officially inaugurated in 2022 by Hon’ble Minister of Health, Smt. Veena George and Hon’ble Minister of Ports and Co-operation, Shri. V N Vasavan. This college is recognised by Pharmacy Council of India and is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences from 2010 onwards. College of Pharmaceutical Science is having various departments like Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacognosy. Additionally, this institution provides educational training in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics for professional need.
The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is located within the expansive campus of the Medical College in Gandhinagar.
