Scholarships

Eligible students can avail government and institutional scholarships based on merit, income, and category, as per prevailing regulations.

E-Grantz Scholarship (SC / OEC Candidates)

Students studying in colleges located within 8 km from their residence are eligible to receive a stipend of INR 630.

Students studying in colleges located beyond 8 km from their residence are eligible to receive a stipend of INR 750.

Students pursuing professional courses and residing independently due to the non-availability of hostel facilities are eligible for an E-Grantz Scholarship amount of INR 1,500.

E-Grantz Scholarship (OBC Candidates)

Day scholars pursuing postgraduate and professional courses are eligible for an E-Grantz Scholarship amount of INR 200.

Hostellers pursuing postgraduate and professional courses are eligible for an E-Grantz Scholarship amount of INR 250.

Candidates belonging to OBC or other backward categories, whose family’s annual income from all sources is less than INR 1,00,000, are eligible to apply. Further details are available on the official E-Grantz portal.

Merit Cum Means Scholarship (MCMS)

The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is available for students belonging to minority communities whose parental income is less than INR 2.5 lakhs per annum.

Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS)

The Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), launched in 2011 under the Prime Minister’s Development Package for Jammu & Kashmir, is aimed at students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The scheme encourages students to pursue higher education outside these regions, including admission to Government Medical Colleges and other institutions across India, thereby promoting national integration.

Eligible candidates must be domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh and should have passed 10+2 or 10+3 diploma from a recognized board in these regions. The annual family income should not exceed INR 8 lakhs, and the candidate should be below 25 years of age. A total of 5,000 scholarships are awarded annually, with 60% reserved for professional courses.
